Morning pick up from your overnight accommodation and drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Stopover in Masindi town for lunch (cost not included) and thereafter proceed to enter the park and proceed to the Magnificent Top of the falls where you will feel the rock literally tremble as the whole Nile River is squeezed through a 7 Meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that ever happened to the Nile….the Murchison falls! After an early morning tea/coffee you will embark on an early morning game drive guided by a professional ranger. Game in this area includes Giraffes, Elephants, Lions, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs and a variety of woodland birds. Have lunch then; take a magical 3hr Launch Cruise to the bottom of the falls. Here, in addition to other game and birds on the banks, it is a paradise of the Hippo and Crocodiles. You may also take photos of the falls and wildlife. After an early breakfast, begin your long drive to Fort Portal approximately 8hrs having lunch on the way (cost not included) arriving in Fort portal later in the afternoon where you will be transferred to your preferred accommodation and spend the rest of your evening relaxing or join in any activities of your choice offered at your preferred choice of accommodation. Morning breakfast, then transfer to Kibale forest where you will be guided for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest; dark and mysterious it is with delightful chattering casts of Primates; which include the Chimpanzee as well as the threatened Red Colobus monkey, Grey cheeked Mangabeys and over 335 bird species. Have lunch, thereafter depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park and be transferred to your overnight accommodation. After a very early morning cup of tea/coffee, depart for an early game drive tracking the carnivores that are probably hunting around this time. Later, return to your lodge In the afternoon, take a 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This is believed to have the largest concentration of Hippo in Africa, a paradise of local and rare migrant birds of over 600species among these include African skimmer, Chapin’s flycatcher, Pink-backed pelicans, Papyrus canary, and the rare Shoebill stork, from Europe and Asia, other animals like elephants and Buffalo can also be viewed here “quenching their thirst.” Later return to your preferred choice of accommodation. After breakfast, begin your drive to Bwindi through Ishasha the home of the tree climbing lions heading south for the gorilla sanctuary through the beautiful mountain scenery also known as “the Switzerland of Africa” arriving in time for Lunch (cost not included). In the evening, take a self – guided walk along the Munyanga River, having beautiful views of the sun set over the Bwindi forest whilst having fun-filled talks about tomorrow’s great adventure or you may simply relax at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Luxury Buhoma Lodge, Mid range Silverback Lodge or Budget Buhoma Community Bandas. Meal Plan – Breakfast and Dinner.
It’s D’ day! Early morning breakfast; proceed to the park headquarters for briefing. You will later be assembled in your groups and taken to your starting points where (carrying packed lunch available from the lodge at extra cost) you will go into the sanctuary guided by a ranger and begin your expedition. Tracking the gorillas can take 2 – 6 hours and can be a very inspirational, worthwhile lifetime experience where you will be spend time with these great apes. You will return to your lodge and simply relax the rest of the evening or you may opt to have a guided village walk or visit the Local Batwa Community. After breakfast begin your return journey and transfer to Kampala, you will stopover at Mbarara for lunch (cost not included) and refreshments at the Igongo Cultural Center. Later head for Kampala arriving later in the evening and drop of at your preferred point. Meal Plan - Breakfast and Lunch.
