Ssese Island Situated in the northwest of Lake Victoria, the Ssese Islands form one of Uganda’s prime destinations for casual rambling and off-the-beaten-track exploration, as well as for game fishing, in particular Nile perch. For much of the 1990s, the islands were entrenched as perhaps the most popular backpacker ‘chill-out destination in Uganda.
Have an early Breakfast, and then go for an optional Entebbe town drive or visit Uganda wildlife education centre before having early lunch in town (cost not included) then after transfer to Nakiwogo on the shores of Lake Victoria in time for the ferry leaving at 1400hrs prompt for your transfer to the Ssese Islands on Lake Victoria arriving in the early evening. Take an afternoon walk on the sandy beaches exploring the atmosphere the island has to offer as you relax during sun set before going to your accommodation for dinner and overnight or simply relax at your hotel. On this day you will go for an island trip exploring the communities’ lifestyles and their day to day activities at the island. Have lunch and later take a boat ride on the lake having views of the vast lake shared amongst three East African countries with Uganda having the second largest portion. You may also opt to go fishing where it is possible to catch an amazing 150-pound Nile Perch!!! On this day you will have breakfast and go for a Morning forest walk in search of the primates, birds and other wildlife. Have Lunch thereafter participate in any other activities offered from Beach Volleyball, pool tables, badminton, beach football, Sunbathing and lake swimming plus others that may excite you before retiring to your accommodation for overnight. You will get up early on this day in time to get your 0800hrs prompt return ferry to the mainland Entebbe and then transfer for coffee or tea in Entebbbe. Later transfer to your preferred drop off point.
